KUALA LUMPUR, May 31 — The cause of death of an alleged accomplice of fugitive businessman Low Taek Jho or Jho Low was due to a sudden massive stroke.
The law firm, Valen, Oh & Partners, claiming to represent the late Kee Kok Thiam and family, in a statement today, confirmed the matter said that the 56-year-old suspect in the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) and SRC International Sdn Bhd scandal died at a hospital two days ago (May 29).
“We urge all parties not to entertain any speculation on this unfortunate event and allow the family the space of grief on his passing,” said the law firm in the statement.
On May 5, the media reported that Kee, who was being investigated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on suspicion of receiving money from 1MDB and SRC International funds and had been missing since 2018, arrived at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 (Klia2) at 3.30 am on Wednesday (May 3).
