KOTA BHARU, May 21 — More than RM3.65 million was successfully raised by the Kelantan government to help Palestinians affected by the Israeli Zionist regime’s incursions and attacks.
Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yacob said the funds were raised through three channels, namely the the Darulnaim Welfare Trust Fund (Tabung Serambi Mekah), non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and the Kelantan PAS Liaison Body.
“The Kelantan PAS Liaison Body has collected more than RM2.1 million, while more than RM1.3 million was raised from the Tabung Serambi Mekah fund. Although the ceasefire agreement was reached this morning, this contribution will still be channelled to Palestinians who are oppressed by the Israeli Zionist regime.
“The contributions through the Tabung Serambi Mekah fund were also received from the Sultan of Kelantan Sultan Muhammad V, state executive council members, state assemblymen, as well as the people of Kelantan, regardless of race,” he told reporters at his office at Kompleks Darul Naim, here, today.
Also present was Kelantan state-level #Aid4Palestine Programme chairman Wan Roslan Wan Hamat
Ahmad said the contributions would be channelled to Muslims in Palestine through Prime Minister’s Special Envoy to the Middle East Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang.
