KOTA KINABALU, Sept 26 — Amid the controversial remark he made relating to the Lahad Datu intrusion, Warisan Plus candidate Datuk Mohamaddin Ketapi was elected as the new assemblyman for Segama in the 16th Sabah state election.
According to the official result issued by the Election Commission tonight, Mohamaddin, the former federal minister of tourism, arts and culture, garnered 4,864 votes to defeat seven other candidates with 2,168 vote-majority.
Mohamaddin’s remark became a topic of controversy when he described the intrusion in Lahad Datu in 2013 as a farce.
