PUTRAJAYA, June 3 — There were 93 new positive COVID-19 cases reported today involving only two Malaysians while the rest were foreigners, thus bringing the cumulative total to 7,970 while no deaths were recorded.
Health director-general, Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said all 93 new cases were infected in the country.
“From the 91 cases involving non-Malaysians, 55 cases were from the Bukit Jalil Immigration Detention Depot and 36 from the Pedas Cluster while the two local cases involved a tahfiz student and one from the market cluster,” he said at the daily media conference on COVID-19 development here today.
Following that, the total number of active cases with COVID-19 infectivity is 1,324 and they have been isolated and given treatment.
He said 61 patients have recovered and were discharged today while six more patients are still in the intensive care unit with two of them requiring respiratory assistance.
