KUALA LUMPUR, March 1 (Bernama) — Less than two hours before the swearing-in of the new prime minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad claimed that Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is not the rightful PM because the latter does not have the majority support in Parliament.
Dr Mahathir, the interim Prime Minister, told a press conference that he had the majority support of 114 Members of Parliament, drawn from his coalition Pakatan Harapan, Warisan and several Independent MPs, some from his own party Bersatu.
“Tan Sri Muhyiddin does not have the majority support to become the new prime minister,” he said at the press conference held at the Albukhary Foundation, here.
